Dr. Rodney & Erin Beeler: Out of the ER, Into a $50K+ Week

How Dr. Rodney and Erin Beeler left 22 years of emergency medicine behind — and built a practice that out-earns the ER, three days a week.

The Life They Were Living

For 22 years, Rodney Beeler showed up to the emergency department and did what ER physicians do: he fixed people and sent them home. Fourteen 24-hour shifts a month. Nights, weekends, holidays. No raise since 2019. No path to one.

Erin spent her career in pediatrics and the NICU before stepping back to raise their four children for 17 years. Two clinicians, two prestigious careers — and a front-row seat to a healthcare system fraying at every seam.

The medicine they actually wanted to practice — walking alongside a patient through a full health journey, watching them recover rather than just stabilize — wasn’t possible inside a shift schedule. The ER was good medicine. It just wasn’t their medicine.

The Decision

Opening a functional medicine clinic wasn’t the hard part. Pricing it honestly was.

Price too low, and you’ve built a commodity practice — high volume, low margin, exhausting. Price too high without the right model behind it, and you risk positioning yourself out of reach of the patients who need you most. The Beelers needed a structure that honored their clinical expertise, attracted patients ready to commit to real change, and generated enough margin to actually replace ER income — without the 24-hour shifts.

That’s where Freedom Practice Coaching came in.

What Changed

FPC built the program architecture from the ground up — and priced it correctly from the start. They installed the patient-education engine that fills enrollment conversations with qualified, motivated buyers. Underneath that sat what Beeler Wellness was always built to be: education-led, high-touch programs for clients with complex needs — fatigue, hormones, gut health, and a growing cognitive care specialty.

The first enrollments closed inside week one. Within months of cutting ER shifts, the practice was already pacing past what 24-hour emergency days could ever produce.

"If we work in the clinic for six to eight hours, he will make more doing that than he would working a 24-hour shift seeing 32 patients."

— Erin Beeler, NICU Nurse & Co-Founder

The Results, Nine Months In

Inside the first nine months, weekly collections crossed $82K — 16 times their launch-week pace. Recent months are pacing on a $1M+ annualized run rate. Rodney has cut his ER shifts from 14 down to 4, with a full exit on track for August 2026.

The numbers tell part of the story. The rest of it doesn’t show up in a revenue chart: dinners at home most nights. Sleep. Four kids who see their dad.

The Internal Shift

The unlock wasn’t just operational. It was identity.

For two decades, Rodney had been giving away extraordinary clinical expertise at commodity pricing. The model change forced a mindset change: from ER doctor on shift to elite practitioner and category authority. From per-visit billing to outcome-based programs priced at $45K+. From insurance-dependent volume to a practice built on memberships and deep, committed partnerships with patients.

"My biggest mindset change was seeing our value. FPC really helped us price it right — then you weed out the low-dollar, high-volume, high-maintenance patients, and you have high-quality patients you can actually give your full value to. You become an elite practice — not a commodity."

— Dr. Rodney Beeler, 10 months in FPC

What’s Next

Plan on track for full ER exit after August 2026 — the last 24-hour shift behind them for good. From there, the Beelers are focused on deepening their cognitive care specialty as the top-tier anchor of their program ladder, and converting practice earnings into long-term ownership and equity.

In the ER, the work ended when the patient left the bay. At Beeler Wellness, that’s where it begins. A small, committed cohort. Complex cases. Real outcomes. The kind of medicine a 22-year emergency physician and a NICU nurse always knew they were capable of.

Most physicians stuck in shift-based income don’t have a clinical problem. They have an architecture problem. The Beelers’ story is the proof of concept.
