The “Freedom” of Freedom Practice Coaching

Something about that word freedom brought me here to FPC. It grabbed my attention and drew me in. I’m sure the word represents different things to each one of us, but for me personally as I worked day in and day out in my practice it is freedom that I desperately needed. At the time I became a client of FPC I had been in practice for 15 years. I was working hour after hour, day after day, week after week falling short of the goals I had set for myself. My wife and I had 3 children, the youngest of them living with a terminal illness, and I found myself at the office desiring to be anywhere but there, away from where she was. FPC came along while my daughter Ashley was in the hospital battling with complications from one of her failed transplant surgeries. It was an extremely challenging time for my wife and I and honestly probably one of the worst times I could imagine for re-vamping my entire business model. Had Freedom Practice Coaching been called by any other name I very well may have never joined. As my wife and young daughter sat in a children’s hospital hours away from where I sat behind my desk “Freedom” is what needed. Here is where I need to pause to say thank you to Freedom Practice Coaching. Thank you for giving me not only the opportunity but also the freedom to realize I could walk away from my desk and go spend more time with our daughter during the last 2 years of her life.   It was the freedom I was looking for, the freedom I needed, and the freedom my family deserved during that time and the difficult times that would follow the loss of our beautiful little girl. FPC gave me the tools to create that for myself and my family. I will forever be grateful.

So let’s talk about what that word Freedom may look like to you. What part of your practice do you need to work on to create the freedom you need in your life? Do you need the freedom to step away from your desk to spend more time with your family? Maybe you need freedom from the insurance companies and their games? How about the freedom in your bank account to take a few more vacations? Or perhaps just the feeling of freedom that comes from having money in that bank account. How does freedom from being stuck in the same old ruts getting the same old results sound?

I wish I could tell you it was going to be easy, and that it won’t require too much effort on your part to achieve this freedom, but that’s not how it works. Wouldn’t it be nice to just sit back and watch a few things on the portal and the freedom we are all looking for in our practices would just appear? I wish we didn’t have to learn new things or change the way we were used to doing things, but that’s not how it works either. FPC promised me it wouldn’t work like that when I first started. Guess what? They were right! We got to work and worked hard and then we worked harder and then we put in some more time and kept working hard. I stayed in contact with my director, I listened to my coaches, I made mistakes, learned from them and kept on going.  I called my coaches when the going got tough, and I did what they asked me to do, even when it was WAY out of my comfort zone. I found that one of the most important things I could do was to stay connected with FPC. This was KEY for me. This is KEY. When the going got rough and believe me it did, I would always get back on and connect with my director, the specialists and the coaches. When things were bad I would get on the phone with anybody at FPC that would listen to me, and what I found was that even when I was embarrassed about my numbers or the lack of butts in seats or ROFs they knew what to say and how to say it to get me back to a place I could move on. FPC had the tools that I needed to achieve the freedom in my practice that I desired. They had them and I needed them.

Since I’ve started coaching with FPC I have found that it is the clients that ask lots of questions and stay connected that are consistently hitting their goals and are beginning to achieve more and more freedom in practice, and those that skip our calls and don’t do their part are the ones that are struggling. I want to encourage you to reach out to us. I’m out here in the trenches with you. I’m working in my practice daily to achieve more and more of that freedom that brought me here in the first place. Reach out to us. Let us know if you need help. Chances are one of us at FPC have made and learned from some of the same mistakes you are making. Text us, send us an email, share with us your successes as well as your failures so we can celebrate and work with you. At FPC we all want you to succeed, and we are here to help you do just that.
