The Role

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Accountant to oversee the full accounting function across three entities operating on accrual accounting (with cash tax reporting for one entity). You will ensure accurate and timely financial close processes, lead cash forecasting, support budgeting and departmental performance analysis, refine accounting processes, and drive continuous improvement of systems and controls.

This role requires a local candidate (San Antonio or Austin with weekly in-person meetings) who thrives in a growing multi-entity environment and can partner effectively with leadership, department managers, and operations teams.

Role Outcome:

  • Accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial close and reporting across all entities, providing leadership with confidence in the numbers.
  • Clear, reliable weekly cash flow forecasting with proactive risk identification.
  • Actionable financial insights that support budgeting, performance tracking, and informed decision-making by leadership and department managers.
  • Well-documented, efficient accounting processes that scale with growth and reduce errors, rework, and close-cycle time.
  • Robust internal controls and compliance practices that support audits, tax filings, and overall financial integrity.
  • A dependable accounting leader that partners cross-functionally and elevates financial discipline across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Lead the monthly close process across all entities, ensuring GAAP compliance and accuracy.
  • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, variance analyses, and entity-level reporting.
  • Reconcile complex accounts including intercompany, bank, and clearing accounts.

Cash Flow & Forecasting

  • Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts for each entity, highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Work with the CFO to manage liquidity and cash planning.

Budgeting & Performance Measurement

  • Support the CFO and department managers to develop annual budgets.
  • Track and communicate budget vs. actual results quarterly.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for performance improvements.

Transaction Processing & Reconciliations

  • Oversee and perform reconciliations of payments via checks, PayPal, Stripe, and other channels.
  • Ensure timely and accurate journal entries and general ledger maintenance.

Process Improvement & Systems

  • Collaborate with technology and operations teams to streamline and document accounting processes.
  • Evaluate and implement tools and automation to improve efficiency.
  • Strengthen internal controls, segregation of duties, and approval processes.
  • Partner with operations and technology teams to improve financial data flow

Other Controller / Senior Accountant Responsibilities

  • Assist with tax compliance and filings where applicable.
  • Support audits and financial reviews.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to accounting staff.

Qualifications:

Must-Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with multi-entity GAAP reporting.
  • Strong proficiency in accrual accounting, financial close, and cash forecasting.
  • Experience reconciling multiple payment platforms (e.g., bank, PayPal, Stripe).
  • Excellent Quickbooks & Excel skills and comfort with accounting systems and process documentation.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and deadline-oriented.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with SaaS, service, and product revenue recognition.
  • Familiarity with budgeting tools, dashboards, and BI reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive client information with discretion and professionalism.
  • CPA or equivalent professional accounting certification.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Full-time, On-site (San Antonio, TX preferred; Austin acceptable with weekly in-person visit)
  • Annual salary base range: $80,000-$105,000
  • Unlimited PTO

The Role

As a Strategic Consultant at Freedom Practice Coaching (FPC), you will join a client advisory team and lead initiatives helping entrepreneurial healthcare practices solve critical challenges in building and scaling their businesses. 

You will work directly with founders of functional, integrative, and cash-pay medical practices who are transforming healthcare delivery. As their primary strategic partner, you will own a portfolio of approximately 40 client practices—diagnosing business challenges, guiding strategic planning, and helping founders translate insights into action across financial performance, operations, marketing, leadership, and organizational structure. 

Through structured strategy sessions, financial analysis, and collaborative problem-solving, you will develop solutions that drive both immediate improvements and long-term capability. Working alongside other consultants and senior coaches at FPC, you will combine data analysis, research, interviews, and strategic brainstorming to uncover insights that strengthen client businesses. 

Ultimately, your work will help healthcare entrepreneurs scale their practices, reach more patients, and improve health outcomes in their communities.

Core Responsibilities:

Own Client Strategy & Performance 

  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 40 healthcare practices, serving as their primary strategic advisor and performance coach.
  • Set strategy for onboarding clients and assist the primary coaching team with delivery.
  • Diagnose key business challenges and develop tailored strategies to improve revenue growth, operational efficiency, and profitability.
  • Facilitate strategic planning sessions with founders to guide decision-making across marketing, operations, hiring, leadership, and financial management.
  • Coach founders through key leadership and growth inflection points as their practices scale.

Drive Measurable Business Outcomes

  • Use financial metrics, operational data, and performance benchmarks to guide strategic decisions and track progress.
  • Maintain a client Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 60+ through exceptional advisory and coaching support.
  • Support organizational growth goals as FPC continues to expand its client base and LTV of each client.

Lead Client Workshops & Events

  • Facilitate strategy sessions, workshops, and training experiences during FPC’s quarterly client events, delivered both virtually and in person.
  • Teach core business frameworks and guide interactive working sessions that help clients apply strategic concepts to their own practices.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of curriculum that supports client implementation and long-term business growth

Generate Strategic Insights

  • Conduct in-depth diagnostics to identify bottlenecks and growth opportunities across client businesses.
  • Develop actionable strategies and frameworks that help clients implement proven business systems.
  • Lead one-on-one coaching sessions, group workshops, and training sessions to support client implementation.
  • Contribute to the evolution of FPC’s coaching frameworks, curriculum, and intellectual property.

Support a Collaborative Coaching Ecosystem 

  • Work closely with fellow consultants, coaches, and executive leadership to continuously improve the client experience.
  • Engage with clients through FPC’s digital community to provide ongoing guidance and support between coaching sessions.

Requirements

We’re looking for candidates who combine strong business fundamentals with the ability to coach and influence founders.

Required Qualifications 

  • MBA OR 3+ years of experience in small business consulting, strategy, or advisory roles
  • Strong understanding of core business fundamentals including financial performance, marketing strategy, and operations
  • Ability to analyze business performance and identify opportunities for growth
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple client relationships simultaneously

Preferred Experience

  • Experience advising or working with entrepreneurial businesses
  • Background in consulting, finance, operations, or strategy
  • Familiarity with healthcare practices, functional medicine, or cash-pay healthcare models

Position Details 

  • Employment Type: Full-Time
